Karolina Sprem hopeful before the semifinal |
|
Croatia's Karolina Sprem defeated Hungary's Katalin Marosi 6-0, 6-1 in the third quarterfinal Friday. That is what she had to say about her victory before Saturday's semifinal:
'The first set was going much easier than the second set, in which my opponent started to play a little bit better. I'm happy with my performance. I didn't serve really well but that did not endanger my way to the semifinal. I played a lot of winners from everywhere in court. I played really good game. It was mainly baseline shots but I had winning shots from close to the net, also. It was quite hot during the match. It was pretty shocking to play the match in such a heat after staying in the cool hotel beforehand.
In the semifinal, Sprem's opponent is Slovenia's Andreja Klepac:
'I played against her some three years ago but now she probably plays much, much better. My coach watched her quarterfinal match and he is going to make up some good tactics. I'm just happy to be here and play tennis again after my surgery. So, I'm just enjoying the game and will try to do my best in the semifinal, also', Karolina Sprem said.
